The International Disc Jockey Trade Association (IDJTA) is a comprehensive international DJ union founded by Edwin “OG Eddie” Myles in June 2008. The IDJTA does not compete with or attempt to govern any record pools, DJ crews or coalitions. Afrika Bambaataa (The Godfather of Hip-Hop), Herb Kent (The Godfather of Urban Radio) and industry veteran TJ Chapman are several of many honorary IDJTA Advisory Board Members.

In the fall of 2009, IDJTA announced that the 1st Annual IDJ Trade Awards will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, in August 2010. The long weekend getaway event will honor DJs internationally in numerous categories and genres, and feature a variety of special performances and festivities.

As the Hip-Hop’s youngest forefather, Myles once oversaw the well being of legendary DJs Afrika Bambaataa, Red Alert, Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Lovebug Starski, and countless other pioneers who shaped Hip-Hop culture.

Through IDJTA, Myles continues to teach the principles of KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM, and UNDERSTANDING that Hip-Hop was founded on. (Accordingly, in 2000, Myles established Zulu Nation South.) Furthermore, Myles’ 25 plus years as an entertainment industry insider have proven extremely effective at promoting a host of major and independent DJs, artists and record labels, including No Limit Records, Sony Records, Lil’ Boosie, Mack 10 and Lil’ Flip.

Today Myles and his IDJTA team utilize their knowledge, ingenuity and proven diligence to work in favor of DJs worldwide. IDJTA has rapidly become the fastest growing international haven for an abundance of DJs who specialize in numerous musical genres.

Under the IDJTA umbrella, IDJ Radio (IDJTR) serves as an invaluable organizational facet that helps empower DJs. In addition to the providing exclusive music and DJ broadcasts, the radio entity also provides Internet radio stations that often double as social networking sites. IDJTA members, including DJs Kix, Brratt, Iko and Lord Raven, along with a Myriad of others, have utilized IDJ Radio to expand their awareness and global fan base.

Similar to the 24-Hour Zulu Nation Security Hotline Myles established in NYC to ensure the safety of his fellow Hip-Hop forefathers, IDJTA’s Million DJ Conference Call (founded in 2009) is also very efficient. Through IDJTA’s strong network of relationships, several special notable guests use the weekly platform to address issues and participate in discourse with DJs and other entertainment industry professionals.

IDJTA also offers its members services, including bookings, marketing, promotion, discounted travel, consulting, web design, graphics and many others essential branding services.
